Paint for GLASS WINDOWS

Paint for glass windowsOkay, this isn't an effective tutorial. I am no expert. In fact, this is actually the first time I've done a project such as this in my lifestyle. But, it did do the job and was far, in an easier way than I anticipated. THEREFORE I will share what I did so though I simply got lucky even.

I've viewed on a few American blogs; these machines are being used by them called Silhouettes for cutting text out of plastic stickers to help you create signs.

There are three factors I didn't decrease that road.
1. They are expensive.
2. I don't know when you can get them within the UK.
3. If I got one I wouldn't manage to job it as I'm technically challenged.

My way was low-cost and simple. Let's face it, if your window cost 20p, you do not want to have to invest hundreds on some fancy machine to create it look good.

I determined what words I needed on the window, and scrolled through a whole lot of fonts. (Why do words look very wrong if you do this? 'Bakery' appeared as if it had been in Russian!) I love to use a number of different fonts to create it more interesting.

We (okay, mostly my hubby) ensured that what would fit in on the panes of cup.  If you are using an application called Word Art you possibly can make your words bend to include another dimension. However, this may distort the letters and appearance pants. Apparently.

I cut my expression and organized the letters in a curve up.

But before I did so this, I flipped each letter/expression over and traced it to the trunk of the paper. Thus giving you a double sided word/letter. The relative back again a person being the reverse photo. You could print your text straight onto printer compatible tracing paper if you need to save yourself a while. We tried normal tracing paper and it produced the right old mess.

You could print out just simply the reverse image as well, BUT, it is better to observe how it's all likely to look when you can actually read it. Believe me on this.

Therefore, on the reverse of the screen you have this...

Make certain those letters are safely taped to the cup on leading and you're prepared to paint on the trunk.

And here's where it gets a breeze. Because you don't have to paint at all.

I was thinking about using my blackboard color for this as I take advantage of that for undertaking lettering on my crates. But I popped into the innovative art shop in town and asked what they had for writing on glass.

The lady confirmed me these pens...

They happen to be Zig Posterman Water-proof pens. They can be found in many colors and nib sizes. They are like applying silver and gold pens just. You provide them with a shake and pump the nib several times.

What I love about them is they are opaque and that means you need only do that once completely. They are waterproof when dry nevertheless, you can wipe off mistakes whilst they're wet. They are suitable for long term posting on chalk boards, house windows, mirrors and ceramics. You don't have to cook your window in the oven to harden the paint. This can be good. Plus they are just £2.99. (I used the excess fine nib.)

So where had been we? Ah yes, the reverse letters on the reverse part of your window. You merely review your traced outline and color it all in. Simple as that. The ink dries in moments. In the event that you up stuff it, just clean it with a finger or something additional sensible whilst it's wet. The writing is performed on the reverse of the cup to keep carefully the front shiny and even more authentic.

The font for 'Bakery' acquired an inbuilt shadow therefore i used a white cup pen to get this done part. Transform it over and accomplish your items of paper and admire your handiwork. When you can color in, you are able to do this. Couldn't end up being simpler!
